Waxing treatment room at Soleil Spa in Pleasant Grove, Utah, with cream linens, a warm wax pot and folded towels

Most people have a waxing story they would rather not repeat. Rushed appointments, wax that was too hot, someone who clearly wanted to be done faster than you did. Waxing is one of those services where technique and pace matter enormously, and where the difference between a good experience and a bad one is almost entirely about who is holding the spatula.

Waxing at Soleil Spa is done by licensed estheticians in a private treatment room, at a pace that lets us do it properly. We work in smaller sections, we check in with you, and we finish with products that calm the skin instead of leaving you red for the rest of the day. Clients come to us for waxing in Pleasant Grove from across Utah County, including Lindon, American Fork, Highland, Cedar Hills and Orem.

What we wax

You can book a single area or combine several in one appointment. If you are not sure what you need, book the area you are most sure about and we will talk through the rest when you are here.

Brows

Shaped to your bone structure rather than a trend. We map the shape, show you, and wax conservatively. If you are growing your brows back out after years of over-tweezing, tell us and we will build toward the fuller shape instead of undoing your progress.

Lash & brow services

Full face

Lip, chin, cheeks and sideburns handled together so your makeup sits smoothly and your skincare actually reaches the skin. A full face wax is quick and it is one of the most noticeable small changes you can make.

Underarms

Fast, and far gentler on the skin than shaving over time. Regular waxing means less irritation, fewer ingrowns and no stubble in between. Most clients find this is the area they wish they had started with.

Arms and legs

Half or full, depending on what you want. Leg waxing lasts far longer than shaving and the regrowth comes back finer over time. Popular through summer and just as popular in winter with clients who are simply done with the razor.

Back

A practical one that is genuinely difficult to manage on your own. Back waxing is quick, and clients tell us it is the service that made the biggest difference to how comfortable they feel in a t-shirt.

Full body and lower body

For clients who would rather handle everything in one visit than book six separate appointments. We schedule the extra time, work through it methodically, and keep you draped and comfortable the whole way.

Waxing does not have to be something you brace yourself for. Done at the right pace, by someone who is paying attention, it is just a quick appointment you leave feeling good about.

The Soleil approach

Hard wax and soft wax, and when we use each

Not all wax is the same, and using the wrong one on the wrong area is where a lot of discomfort comes from. Your esthetician chooses based on the area, your skin, and how coarse the hair is. Here is the difference in plain terms.

Hard Wax

Sensitive and smaller areas

Applied thicker and left to harden, then lifted off without a strip. It grips the hair rather than the skin, which makes it noticeably gentler. This is what we reach for on the face, brows and underarms, and on anyone with sensitive or reactive skin.

Soft Wax

Larger areas, finer hair

Spread in a thin layer and removed with a cloth strip. It clears large areas efficiently and picks up fine hair that hard wax can miss, which makes it the practical choice for legs, arms and backs where speed matters.

If you have waxed before and it went badly, say so at the start of your appointment. Nine times out of ten the fix is a different wax, a different technique, or simply slowing down. You can see the rest of what we offer on our spa services page.

What to expect at your appointment

If it is your first wax with us, here is exactly how it runs, so you know what you are walking into.

01

Quick intake

We ask about medications, retinol and acid use, any skin conditions, and how your skin has reacted to waxing before. This is what tells us which wax to use.

02

Prep the skin

The area is cleansed and a light pre-wax product goes on to protect the skin. Hair gets trimmed first if it is longer than the wax can grip cleanly.

03

Wax in sections

We work in smaller sections and keep the skin held taut, which is most of what makes a wax comfortable. Speak up anytime about temperature or pace.

04

Tweeze and tidy

Strays that the wax did not catch get tweezed so the finish is clean. On brows we check symmetry with you sitting up before we call it done.

05

Calm the skin

A soothing post-wax product goes on to reduce redness, and we send you out with aftercare so you can avoid ingrowns over the next few days.

Why clients choose Soleil for waxing

Licensed estheticians

Waxing at Soleil is done by licensed estheticians who wax all day, not by whoever happens to be free. Technique is the whole service.

A private room, not a curtain

Every wax happens in a proper treatment room with the door closed. You are draped for anything beyond the face, and your comfort sets the pace.

The right wax for the area

Hard wax on sensitive areas, soft wax where it performs better. We do not run one product across your whole body because it is quicker.

We screen for skin safety

Retinol, acids and accutane all change how skin responds to wax. We ask first and adjust or reschedule rather than risking a lift.

Combine it with anything

Add a wax to a facial, a massage or a head spa and handle it all in one visit instead of three.

Central to Utah County

We are in Pleasant Grove with free parking and ground-floor access, an easy drive from Lindon, American Fork, Highland and Orem.

Appointment length and pricing

Waxing appointments range from about 15 minutes for brows to a longer booking for full body. Combining areas in one visit is usually faster and easier than splitting them across appointments, so tell us everything you want done when you book and we will schedule the right amount of time.

Current pricing for each area is shown on the booking page when you go to schedule. Pricing changes from time to time, so we keep the live rate at the booking link rather than listing it here.

Most clients settle into a rhythm of every three to five weeks depending on the area and how fast their hair grows. Waxing on a schedule works better than waxing occasionally, because the hair starts growing back on a more consistent cycle and comes in finer over time.

Frequently asked questions

How long does hair need to be to wax?

About a quarter of an inch, or roughly two to three weeks of growth. If it is shorter than that the wax cannot grip it and you will leave with patches. If it is much longer we can trim it down at the start of your appointment, so do not let length stop you from booking.

How long does waxing last?

Most people get three to five weeks before the next appointment, depending on the area and how fast their hair grows. Waxing removes the hair from the root rather than cutting it at the surface, which is why the smooth stretch is so much longer than shaving. Regular waxing also tends to make regrowth finer and more sparse over time.

Does waxing hurt?

There is a quick sting as the wax comes off, and then it passes. Most clients find it far more manageable than expected, especially with hard wax on sensitive areas. The first appointment is usually the most uncomfortable and it gets noticeably easier as you keep a regular schedule. Technique matters more than tolerance, so tell us if anything is too much.

How should I prepare for a waxing appointment?

Let the hair grow to about a quarter of an inch and do not shave in between. Gently exfoliate a day or two before, but not the same day. Skip lotion or oil on the area that morning, since wax needs clean dry skin to grip. Stop retinol and exfoliating acids three to five days beforehand.

Can I get waxed if I use retinol or accutane?

If you use topical retinol, stop three to five days before your appointment and tell us. If you are on accutane or have finished it within the last six months, we cannot wax you. The skin is too fragile and waxing can lift it. Mention it at booking and we will suggest an alternative or a timeline for when you can start.

What should I do after a wax?

For the first 24 hours avoid hot showers, saunas, the gym, swimming pools and direct sun, since the follicles are open and the skin is sensitive. Skip heavy lotions and makeup on freshly waxed skin. Start gently exfoliating again after a few days, which is the single best thing you can do to prevent ingrown hairs.

How do I stop getting ingrown hairs?

Exfoliate regularly between appointments, keep the skin moisturised, and avoid very tight clothing right after a wax. Sticking to a consistent waxing schedule helps too, because hair that grows on a regular cycle is far less likely to get trapped. If ingrowns are a persistent problem for you, mention it and we will suggest a product routine.

Is waxing better than shaving?

For most people, yes. Waxing removes hair from the root so you get weeks of smooth skin instead of days, and it does not leave the blunt stubble that shaving creates. Over time regrowth tends to come in finer. Shaving is quicker in the moment, but you are doing it every few days rather than every few weeks.
